Daily Journals
"Nothing" 4/29/2013
Nothing... it's pretty simple.
"Brown" 4/11/2013
I am truly intrigued by this rotting door in my school. I played with curves on photoshop to intensify the image.
"Yellow" 4/10/2013
This bright yellow flower stuck out to me, so I decided it was a good idea to take a photo of on "yellow" journal prompt day.
"Weather" 4/9/2013
The weather today was supposed to be sunny and in the 70s, but I guess the weather forecasters were wrong. What's new?
"Sunshine" 4/8/2013
This image shows the sunshine that was able to break through.
4/1/2013 to 4/5/2013 Absent
"Your Locker" 3/28/2013
"Your Locker" was the Journal prompt for today. I took a picture of the important part of my locker, and left the other half out.
"The Eyes Have it" 3/26/2013
"The Eyes Have it" was the Journal prompt today. I asked the person next to me to gaze at something, and i snapped the shot.
"Over the Shoulder" 3/25/2013
"Over the Shoulder" was the Journal prompt for today. I literally took the camera, pointed it over my shoulder, and took the image. I don't think the image itself is interesting, but the idea did make me laugh.
"Slefies" 3/22/2013
"Selfies" was the Journal prompt for today. I did not feel like taking one, so I chose this one from my camera.
"Chaos" 3/21/2013
"Chaos" was the Journal prompt for today. I took this photo in an abandoned building, and think it definitely reflects the theme of chaos.
"Puzzled" 3/19/2013
"Puzzled" was the Journal prompt for today. In a projection series I created this photo. It is not exactly what I pictured, but I do believe it is puzzling.
"Bird's Eye" 3/18/2013
"Bird's Eye" was the Journal prompt for today. I was looking around the room for something that reflected me, and I saw these paintbrushes in the middle of the room.
"Art" 3/15/2013
"Art" was the Journal prompt for today. I wanted to use this image because it was part of my portfolio and I worked very hard to get this product.
"Lighting" 3/14/2013
"Lighting" was the Journal prompt for today. I wanted to take an interesting photo of this photography lighting.
"Vibrant" 3/12/2013
"Vibrant" was the Journal prompt for today. I looked to my left, saw this earring, and thought it was very fitting for the prompt.
"Find a Corner" 3/11/2013
"Find a Corner" was the Journal prompt for today. I saw the chaos of these chairs in the corner of a closet, and I really found the subject interesting.
"Yuck!" 3/6/2013
"Yuck!" was the Journal prompt for today. I looked down and saw my math book and notebook out. I had forty problems to do by the next block, and I decided that was definitely gross enough.
"Doodle" 3/5/2013
"Doodle" was the Journal prompt for today. I saw a classmate doodling on the board and decided to take a quick picture of it.
"Motion" 3/4/2013
"Motion" was the Journal prompt for today. I had photoshop open, so I chose a paintbrush and moved the mouse around with a slow shutter speed. The effect is somewhat ominous.
"Music" 3/1/2013
"Music" was the Journal prompt for today. I looked down and say the iTunes symbol on my desktop and immediately thought of music, so I took a picture.
"Texture" 2/28/2013
"Texture" was the Journal prompt for today. I originally took a photo of the ceiling tile in the hallway, but as I walked back into class i say the texture of the flag. Being able to see the separate stitches in the flag is very interesting because it makes me wonder about how it was made and what it means to so many people.
"Time" 2/27/2013
"Time" was the Journal prompt for today. Instead of taking the obvious route and taking a picture of a clock I wanted to represent the passing of time. In order to achieve this, I set a very slow shutter speed and allowed my camera to capture the people and various movements that passed in front of it
"Hands" 2/26/2013
"Hands" was the Journal prompt for today. I decided to take a picture of the first working hand I saw, and these just happened to be the ones.
"Loneliness" 2/25/2013
"Loneliness" was the Journal prompt for today. I saw the prompt and I immediately knew what I would do. I wanted to take an image of my sculpture. I think the photo is interesting, and the texture of the paper adds interest.
"Lines" 2/14/2013
"Lines" was the Journal prompt for today. Instead of take a photo of literal lines I took a picture of the phone. A telephone line was the first thing that came to mind as I put my eye up to the view finder. I don't think the photo is hugely successful: however, it is a little clever when presented with the prompt.
"Up" 2/13/2013
"Up" was the Journal prompt for today. I think the image is interesting, and the lines really pull my eye through the image.
"Snow Day" 2/12/2013
"Snow Day" was the Journal prompt for today. When we do have snow days the last thing on my mind is school, so this prompt really made me think. On a school day the school is probably hauntingly dark and eerie, and I wanted to represent this with a photo. I think the image is successful because is has good composition, interest, and a thought and message behind it.
"Think Blue" 2/7/2013
"Think Blue" was the Journal prompt for today. This image is ok, but really isn't anything extraordinary. I like the texture on the left in the sweater because I think it adds interest and breaks up the image a little.
"Look Down" 2/6/2013
"Look down and take a picture of what you see," was the Journal prompt for today. I think the image is successful, but nothing spectacular. A narrow depth of field always adds interest to any subject by allowing the viewer to paint the rest of the picture with their mind.
